Corbett Creek Kennel is owned by Mary Corbett. We are a small hobby breeder in Corinth, Vermont. I have been breeding dogs for thirty years and have numerous champions in the conformation, obedience and hunting fields. I am also active in retraining and rescue work, priding myself in puppies who are well socialized, lovingly raised and cared for. Our weimeraners and vizslas are calm, loving and are excellent examples of the breeds. Thank you for your interest in our beautiful dogs and please contact us for more information.
Purchasing a puppy is a major endeavor. A prospective owner needs to make sure the breed fits his or her family, lifestyle and expectations. I often encourage prospective new owners to explore the American Kennel Club's website on questions to ask a breeder. In addition, check out the short video vignettes at Animal Planet's 'Dogs 101' for weimeraners and vizslas. Here you'll get information about the breed qualities and characteristics. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and speak to several breeders. All of our puppies come from champion bloodlines with the parents' hip and elbows x-rayed, cleaned and rated through the Orthopedic Foundation of America. Their eyes are cleaned yearly by a veterinary ophthalmologist, then cleaned through the National C.E.R.F. (Canine Eye Registry Foundation).
All of our puppies are micro-chipped and come with two or more sets of shots (D.M.C.P), two doses of kennel cough, and have been dewormed weekly and health-checked by a veterinarian. Each puppy comes with a puppy book full of educational reading information on puppy care and training along with the parent's pedigree and health clearances. Puppies are lovingly raised in our home in big pine boxes with lots of toys, music and love. Weather permitting, they go outside and explore the world.
Socialization is our personal concern. After twenty five years of breeding, I know that the two most important factors for a happy healthy puppy is good breeding and proper socialization in the first few months. I am available to answer your questions and encourage visits as you and your new pet adjust to each other.
